Recruitment Summit for Postdoctoral Scholars in Cell Biology and Genomics
Late-stage graduate students and junior postdoctoral fellows are invited to attend the 2025 Recruitment Summit for CHOP/Penn Postdoctoral Scholars in Cell Biology and Genomics. Meet expert faculty who are recruiting postdocs to work in cutting-edge research labs at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the University of Pennsylvania (Penn).
To qualify for this event, you must:
- Register by clicking the “Register Now” button above.
- Submit your research-focused application for review by our faculty committee.
Applications must be received by 11:59pm (ET) Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
Eligibility
Late-stage graduate students (within one year of completing their graduate programs) and junior postdoctoral fellows (within one to two years of receiving their doctoral degree) are eligible for this opportunity. We strongly encourage individuals from diverse backgrounds, life and research experiences, and employment histories to apply.
While this program is open to both US Citizens and Foreign Nationals, applicants must reside within the United States at the time of application to be considered for the program. Selected candidates who live more than 50 miles from the city of Philadelphia will be eligible for coverage of travel costs.
About Our Cell Biology & Genomics Research Affinity Groups
The Research Affinity Groups in Cell Biology and Genomics serve as intellectual hubs for collaboration among clinicians, translational researchers, and basic scientists studying pediatric and other diseases at the level of molecular biology, cell biology, gene regulation, and genomics. Our research spans multiple fields including immunology, endocrinology, neuroscience, cancer biology, hematology, and the basic cellular processes relevant to multiple organ tissues and models including heart, lungs, bone, pancreas, brain, and gastrointestinal tract. Our researchers study basic cellular processes that underlie normal physiology and pathology; work to define the cellular, molecular, and genomic basis for rare inherited diseases; and investigate major common disorders such as age-related neurodegeneration, cardiac disease, autoimmunity, bone fragility, sleep, and diabetes.
Salary
CHOP ensures that the Research Institute is up to date with best practices in postdoctoral compensation. The starting salary for candidates with no previous postdoctoral experience is $66,300. Postdocs receive an annual salary increase following successful completion of their annual review:
• 0 years of experience = $66,300
• 1 year = $66,810
• 2 years = $67,320
• 3 years = $67,830
• 4 years = $68,340
Postdocs are also eligible for our full employee benefits program, including health insurance, paid time off, retirement savings plans, student loan repayment, commuter benefits, and parental leave.
Next Steps
Applicants will be notified of their acceptance to the program in mid- to late-January 2025. The exact event location and time will be shared in this formal invitation.
